History of Hosiery
Initially, when skirt hemlines began to rise in the 1920’s, there was no hosiery option available for women to cover their legs, aside from stockings. Luckily, by the time the miniskirt was introduced in 1965, the first pantyhose were rolling out of the mills. Some women find wearing pantyhose and other types of hosiery to be archaic practices, but the industry continues to evolve to meet consumer’s demands. There is a type of hosiery to meet the current and changing needs of every woman.
Why Wear Hosiery?
Some of the advantages of wearing hosiery are that on cool days, pantyhose keep your legs warm when you wear skirts or dresses. They’re also good for hiding blemishes, scars and varicose veins. We also carry thigh highs and knee highs for when you want some coverage, but don't want to wear thick stockings. Our hosiery department also encompasses women's socks. We carry many styles of women's socks, including low cut socks, casual socks, and trouser socks. We also carry winter hosiery to keep your legs warm when the temperatures drop.
